Gan dynnu ar wybodaeth o fforymau a gynhaliwyd gyda grwpiau celfyddydol anabl ar draws Wrecsam ar ddechrau 2025, mae'r ddarlith hon yn rhannu profiadau a safbwyntiau aelodau o’r gymuned anabl yn yr ardal leol.

Drwy dechnegau creadigol ac ymarferion rhyngweithiol, mae’n gwahodd mynychwyr i ailfeddwl am ganfyddiadau o anabledd ac archwilio sut beth allai cynhwysiant gwirioneddol yn y celfyddydau fod.

Mae Dr Grace Thomas yn Uwch Gymrawd Ymchwil mewn Ymgysylltu â’r Celfyddydau ym Mhrifysgol Wrecsam. Mae ei gwaith ymchwil cyfredol yn canolbwyntio ar wella mynediad at y celfyddydau i bobl anabl ac archwilio sut y gall celf feithrin cyfiawnder cymdeithasol. Yn ei geiriau hi, “Dylai celf fod i bawb, ac mae’n arbennig o addas ar gyfer chwalu rhwystrau ar draws cymunedau.”

About:

Drawing on forums held with disabled arts groups across Wrexham in early 2025, this lecture shares the lived experiences and perspectives of disabled community members in the local area.

Through creative techniques and interactive exercises, it invites attendees to rethink perceptions of disability and explore what true inclusivity in the arts can look like.



About the speaker:

Dr Grace Thomas is a Senior Research Fellow in Arts Engagement at Wrexham University. Her current research focuses on improving accessibility to the arts for disabled people and exploring how art can foster social justice. As she says, “Art should be for all and is uniquely suited to break down barriers across communities.”
